Minimum wage 2024 – how much will it be?

In 2024, we can expect another increase in the minimum wage. As in the previous year, this increase will double, creating a new minimum base record. What will the minimum wage 2024 be? By how much will the 2024 minimum wage increase? What will the hourly rate be in 2024? Check the level of the national minimum 2024.

Minimum wage 2024 – how much will it be?

According to the law on the minimum wage regulation and the minimum hourly rate in 2024, the Gazette has announced that the salary will be divided into two stages:

From 1 January 2024, the minimum wage will be PLN 4242 gross,

From 1 July, the minimum wage will be PLN 4300 gross.

Minimum wage 2024 – hourly rate

As with the minimum wage, the minimum hourly rate will increase twice. The 2024 minimum hourly rate will be:

From 1 January 2024 – PLN 27.70 gross,

From 1 July 2024 – PLN 28.10 gross.

The cost of employing a worker in 2024

An increase in remuneration for work may be attractive for employees themselves, but unfortunately it is problematic for entrepreneurs. Along with an increase in salary, employment costs go up along with it, which can amount to more than PLN 60 000 per employee per year! How much will it cost to employ one employee per month? Below are the generalised employment costs. The final salary paid may depend on the employee’s tax preferences, e.g. PIT zero for young people, author’s deductible costs, PPK.

Minimum wage versus part-time work

On 14 September 2023, the Council of Ministers’ Decree on the National Minimum 2024 was published. The rates that are stated therein apply to full-time work. If an employee is employed part-time and receives the minimum wage, the rate is proportional to the full-time position.

Impact of the minimum wage on other benefits

The increase in the minimum wage 2024 will result in an increase in other employee payments that are dependent on this wage. Many benefits to which employees are entitled, including those arising from employment, are calculated on the basis of the minimum wage. These benefits will also increase, provided the entitlement to them arises in 2024.
